The greatest social event of the year for Killaloe/Ballina Anglers the Charity Pike Competition was held on Sunday October 28th. Since it was first introduced in 1981 the event has raised thousands of euro for local charities that include the senior citizens and Milford Hospice. Some forty boats took part in this year’s event and huge numbers of fish were weighed in and released. The club members wish to thank most sincerely the main sponsors Brian Whelan and Michael O’Rourke and all the individuals/businesses who donated spot prizes and all those who purchased tickets as well as Mills' Bar Ballina who hosted the very enjoyable evening following the prize giving.
