Missing Person Ballyvaughan Co Clare

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked to assist Doolin Coast Guard, Gardai, Rescue Helicopter from Shannon and Locals in the search for a missing female from the Ballyvaughan Area who is missing since Saturday evening. The search is on going.

Engine Failure On Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked to a 24′ Sea Ray that had engine failure and were in danger of being washed ashore. The Rescue Helicopter which was on maneuvers in Killaloe for St Patrick’s Day responded along with Killaloe Coast Guard. Boat Adrift on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked by MRSC Valentia when a member of the public reported a boat adrift on the lower lake with no visible person on board. Killaloe Coast Guard Unit launched their rescue rib ” Dalton” to the scene. The craft was located with no sign that anyone was or had been on board. Flare Sighted on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit received a call from the local Gardai of a report of an Orange flare sighting on Lough Derg. Object in the Water at O’Briens Bridge

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked by Killaloe Garda to inspect an object floating just South of Parteen weir Co Clare. A dClass rescue rib was launched at Mountpilier with a crew of four while a walking team proceeded on foot on the western bank. The object was found to be a wheelie bin which could have been a hazard to navigation in the area. The bin was removed to Mountpilier.

Killaloe Coast Guard Tasked

Killaloe Coast were tasked to contain a small fuel spill from a 32′ Cruiser which sank at Kincora Harbour spilling Diesel and engine oil into the harbour. Booms were  placed at the mouth of the harbour to contain pollution. The Coast Guard at Killaloe would request all boat owners to check on their boats after the cold spell.

New Rescue Boat for Killaloe Coast Guard

A new Red Bay Stormforce 8 Rescue Rib fitted with twin Suzuki DF115′s, Garmin 4010 chartplotter, 2 x Garmin 200i VHF’s, Garmin radar on a folding A-frame arch, Self-righting bag, Golight spotlight with remote joystick, and 4 x Scot suspension jockey seats arrived in Killaloe this week. Search on Frozen Lake near O’Briens Bridge

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC Valentia to a report from Killaloe Garda that someone may have fallen through the Ice at a Lake situated at the junction of the R466 and R463 near O,Briens Bridge in Co Clare.

Car Found in East Clare Lake

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked by the Killaloe Garda when a Vehicle was observed in the water in an east Clare Lake. Killaloe Coast Guard immediatly deployed a boat crew with a rescue rib to the scene. Divers from Killaloe Ballina Search & Recovery also assisted in the operation.
