Killaloe National School
The pupils of Killaloe National School paid a visit to the local Killaloe Coast Guard Unit today and were shown the resources available to the community for an emergency They were also given a safety on the water presentation which covered Swimming Sea and River, Boating, Fishing and what to do in an emergency. While at the Units base they were treated to a live tasking to a speed boat adrift.

Killaloe Coast Guard unit carried out its first Water Safety presentation of 2012 with Puckane NS 4th, 5th and 6th Classes. the boy,s and girls were given a power point presentation on water safety and what to do if they see some one in trouble etc. after the presentation the students were shown some of the equipment used by the Coast guard in saving lives.

Killaloe Coast Guard as part of their commitment to educating school children water safety before they start their summer holidays, visited 2nd class students of Ballina NS in Co Tipperary. An interactive slide show was given covering inland water safety, seaside safety, lifejackets and the need to always wear one. After the presentation the students were taken outside to view the rescue
Killaloe Coast Guard visit Lisnagry NS
Killaloe Coast Guard Unit visited Lisnagry NS as part of the commitment to teaching water safety in toatal 256 boys and girls reveived a 15minute instruction on the dangers of water and then were introduced to the equipment used by the Coast Guard.

Visit to Killaloe Coast Guard
The Killaloe Boy’s National School 3rd and 4th class visited the Killaloe Coast Guard Unit. The event was organised by the Killaloe Library. The pupils with their teachers had a great time while the Coast Guard volunteers introduced them to the equipment i.e boats underwater camera first aid etc. After this a short slide show on water safety was given.
