Hired Cruiser Hits Killaloe Bridge.

Call to MRSC Valentia  from a member of the local Coast Guard Unit that a Hired Cruiser had struck Killaloe Bridge. The Cruiser was holed and taken on water two members of the local Coast Guard were on scene and evacuated the 6 persons and dog to the mooring in front of Molly’s Bar. Small Tender Craft Investigated at Killaloe

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to investigate a small craft that appeared to be stuck under Killaloe Bridge by Killaloe Gardai. Due to the darkness and the bad weather at the time it was unclear as to the nature of difficulty the craft was in or if any one was or had been on board. Boat Adrift on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked by MRSC Valentia when a member of the public reported a boat adrift on the lower lake with no visible person on board. Killaloe Coast Guard Unit launched their rescue rib ” Dalton” to the scene. The craft was located with no sign that anyone was or had been on board. Flare Sighted on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit received a call from the local Gardai of a report of an Orange flare sighting on Lough Derg. Object in the Water at O’Briens Bridge

Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked by Killaloe Garda to inspect an object floating just South of Parteen weir Co Clare. A dClass rescue rib was launched at Mountpilier with a crew of four while a walking team proceeded on foot on the western bank. The object was found to be a wheelie bin which could have been a hazard to navigation in the area. The bin was removed to Mountpilier.

Killaloe Coast Guard Tasked

Killaloe Coast were tasked to contain a small fuel spill from a 32′ Cruiser which sank at Kincora Harbour spilling Diesel and engine oil into the harbour. Booms were  placed at the mouth of the harbour to contain pollution. The Coast Guard at Killaloe would request all boat owners to check on their boats after the cold spell.
