Two Boaters Show their experiance on Lough Derg.

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked by Killaloe Gardai and Valentia MRSC to a 31′ Cruiser that had lost propulsion when its drive gears failed. The two on board are experienced boaters and immediately dropped anchor and called for assistance while remaining calm and safe. Killaloe Coast Guard took the craft and its two passengers in tow to Kincora Harbour.

Two Anglers towed to safely to Killaloe

 Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked to assist a 16’ lake boat that had broken down off Tinneranna Bay on Lough Derg. The boat with two male non national anglers on board had no oars or life jackets on board.

Boat Adrift on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard was called to assist a 16’ Day Cruiser that was adrift off Ryninch Lower approx. two miles NE of Killaloe. A member of the public who observed the crew waving for assistance rang the local Gardai who then contacted the Irish Coast Guard. Difficulty on Lough Derg in the Dark.

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked by their Regional Command Station at Valentia to a distress call on the River Shannon near Killaloe. A Power Cruiser had broken down at the mouth of the River just north of Killaloe with two persons on board. Cruiser Collides with Killaloe Bridge

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was called to assist a hired Cruiser with six persons on board when it collided with the Killaloe Bridge Just under Molly’s. Extensive damage was sustained by the cruiser which was towed to Ballina Slip with all passengers safe. The Hire Company was notified of the damage.

Power Cruiser Siezed on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were tasked at 19:33 after an urgent call to 112 from the skipper of a craft moored at killaloe moorings that feared for his safety as a result of a Crownline Sports Cruiser operating recklessly endangering live and property in close proximity to his vessel. On arrival the Crownline Sports Cruiser had departed the scene on investigation the speed cruiser was located.

Pontoon Adrift at Killaloe

Killaloe Coast Guard a volunary unit of the Irish Coast  Guard was called by the local Garda when a mooring pontoon broke its mooring and was drifting down stream creating a danger to the bridge an vessels. The pontoon was safely recovered a towed to its original owners.

Engine Failure on the Lower Shannon

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to assist an 3mtr FastCraft Boat with engine failure with 2 POB about 4.5km south of Killaloe Bridge on Tipp side. Boat which had just been purchased the day before lost power on the lower lake and due to the SW winds the craft was being pushed towards the Tipperary Shore. The boat was towed to Ballina Slip were it was tailored.

Killaloe Coast Guard visit Lisnagry NS

Killaloe Coast Guard Unit visited Lisnagry NS as part of the commitment to teaching water safety in toatal 256 boys and girls reveived a 15minute instruction on the dangers of water and then were introduced to the equipment used by the Coast Guard.
