Two young Adults narrowly escape Danger at Killaloe.
Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to a report of a male in his early twenties in the water south of killaloe Bridge. The young adult was fully clothed and his girlfriend had also entered the water to try and assist him.
When Killaloe Coast Guard arrived at Ballina slip the two young adults had made their way to safety. The two were taken home and the Killaloe Coast Guard rescue boat “Dalton”

Towed to Killaloe
Killaloe Coast Guard while on maneuvers went to the assistants of a boat that had gone aground just off Castlelough. The boat was towed to safety with 2 adults and two children on board all wearing life jackets.

Engine Failure on lough Derg
Killaloe Coast Guard Unit while on maneuvers on Lough Derg assisted a Power Cruiser that lost engine power. The craft with three adults and one child on board and all wearing life jackets were towed to safe harbour.

Yacht Adrift at Killaloe
Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to a report of a Sailing Cruiser adrift south of Killaloe Bridge. Killaloe Coast Guard who was preparing for an overnight training exercise from Foynes to Ballybunnion launched immediately the vessel was recovered and tied up a Ballina Moorings with no one on board.
The Crew then proceeded to Foynes by Road launched at Foynes Yacht Club and carried out training
Cruiser Adrift on R. Shannon
Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked to investigate a report by a member of the public that a Cruser was drifting South of Killaloe Bridge and that they could not see if any one was on board. The Killaloe Gadai notified the local Coast Guard Unit who notified MRSC Valentia. Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were requested by Valentia NRSC to investigate a 999 call that two persons were seen in the water just below Goosers on the Ballina Side of the R Shannon as there was no boat in the area and the weather conditions were very poor at the time a genuine concerne was expressed by onlookers. Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were tasked by Valentia MRSC to an incidend reported by Killaloe Gardai, that they received a report of a dingy with four persons on Lough Derg near Castlelough in distress.

Small Sail Boat Adrift at Killaloe
Killaloe Coast Guard received a call from the local Gardai that a small craft was adrift near the Pierhead and could become a danger to navigation. The Sailing boat was secured safely.
