Aircraft Beacon Alert Near Bridgetown Co Clare
Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked by Valentia Coast Guard Mission Control Sub Center to a report of an aircraft beacon between Bridgetown and east of O Brien’s Bridge. After an extensive search over a large area Killaloe Coast Guard Unit waited on more accurate information. AA search is still continuing in the Birdhill Area.

Search for Missing Person Near Clonlara
Killaloe Coast Guard Unit and the Irish Coast Guard Helicopter from Shannon Rescue 115 was tasked to Clonlara to assist in the search for a missing person. The alarm was raised at 00:06am an extensive search took place but due to darkness was stood down until first light. Swimmer in Difficulty near killaloe
Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were alerted to a swimmer that needed assistance while on patrol in the Killaloe area. Killaloe Coast Guard responded immediately and brought the casualty to Ballina Slipway where HSE Paramedics were already in attendance due the I3 swim event.

Fouled Propeller Near Killaloe
Killaloe Coast Guard Unit was tasked to assist a 26′ Sailing Yacht when one of its ropes got fouled in its propeller. The yacht with three passengers was towed to safety.

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked by Valentia Coast Guard Radio to assist a Cruiser in difficulty near Mounthannon. The Cruiser was found anchored 200 metres from shore with onshore wind. Valentia Coast Guard Marine Rescue Sub Centre received a call from a member of the public that a 28ft Cruiser seemed to be in trouble in Scariff Bay Area. Initially there was limited information available except that cruiser appeared to be in trouble (Stuck on rocks) The vessel had been sighted by another vessel , with which Lough Derg Coast Guard Radio at Valentia were in communication.
